Just a quick update today in the case of Logan Cline, the 11-year-old boy found dead in the trunk of a car in Wichita Falls, Texas on February 27.

Logan’s accused murderer, Corey Trumbull, who was dating (and allegedly physically abusing) Logan’s mother, Stormy Johnson, was indicted by a Wichita County grand jury on April 15. He is charged with capital murder of a person who is at least 10 but younger than 15. 

The grand jury set Corey’s bond at $2 million. 

The indictment accuses Corey of hitting Logan in the head and/or body with either his hands or a blunt instrument, causing his death, on or around December 1, 2019. The official autopsy has not been released, but information I have received indicates the family was told Logan’s cause of death was blunt force trauma. 

Logan’s mother, Stormy, and Corey are both charged with tampering with evidence in connection with Logan’s death. Both are being held in Nevada’s Clark County Detention Center on bonds of $100,000 each for charges based in Las Vegas, in addition to fugitive warrants from Texas.

This case snowballed from Corey’s alleged attack on Stormy in February. The couple “lived” together in their truck, along with Stormy’s 15-year-old daughter and some dogs. Apparently, Corey beat the living shit out of Stormy, who has admitted her “brain is not what it used to be” after a period of extremely heavy drug use, and Stormy escaped and contacted police. When Stormy gave her statement to police about the attack, which left her with a mile-long list of bruises and broken bones, she also tipped them off that her 11-year-old son was dead and that they had left him in the trunk of an older-model Ford sedan near the Red Roof Inn in Wichita Falls. 

The odd couple is also facing several sexual abuse charges in Las Vegas against an unnamed teenage girl. Stormy, with her meth-addled memory, has claimed she doesn’t remember whether or not she participated in the girl’s abuse, which included, according to Corey, “threesomes.”

Just for fun, let me list all of the charges they face. 

Corey Trumbull faces the following: 

• Capital murder of a person who is at least 10 but younger than 15 (Texas)
• Tampering with evidence (Texas)
• First degree kidnapping (Nevada)
• Domestic battery (Nevada)
• Domestic battery by strangulation (Nevada)
• Domestic battery with a deadly weapon resulting in significant bodily harm (Nevada) (Nevada)
• Possession of visual pornography of a person under 16 (Nevada)
• Three counts of sexual assault against a child under 16 (Nevada)
• Two counts of lewd acts committed by a person over 18 with a child of 14 or 15 (Nevada)
• Child abuse or neglect (Nevada)

Stormy Johnson faces:

• Tampering with evidence (Texas)
• Possession of visual pornography of a person under 16 (Nevada)
• Three counts of sexual assault against a child under 16 (Nevada)
• Two counts of lewd acts committed by a person over 18 with a child of 14 or 15 (Nevada)
• Child abuse or neglect (Nevada)

Ugh. If these people aren’t tried soon, is strapping them to a rocket and firing them into the sun an option? Even if they’re not guilty (*violent eyeroll*), unless somebody points out some redeeming qualities pretty quickly, I don’t see any reason not to fire them into deep space.
